Barco reported its results for Q1 2021 and saw a boost of 21% in orders compared to Q4 2020 and up 10% compared to a year ago to €228.9 million. Sales were lower at €171.7 million, down on Q4 and 27% down on Q1 2020.
China’s cinema business has been recovering which commercial business was broadly flat on Q4. Medical orders were stronger than in Q4.
What We Think
As I have said before, we don’t want to become a finance data news service, but it’s interesting to see what is happening to Barco, as a bellwether for the AV industry. Evidently, given that orders were well above sales, supply chain disruptions are causing trouble. (BR)
