Barco exhibited its medical imaging tool SpotView, in addition to the Coronis Uniti 12MP and Nio Color 5.8MP display systems, at the International Workshop on Breast Imaging (IWBI), which took place earlier this week in Georgia, United States.

According to the company, a recent study by a professor at Georgia’s Emory University found that with Barco’s SpotView and I-Luminate luminance-boosting technology, it is possible to reduce mammographic dose without impacting diagnostic accuracy.
The study also found that SpotView can increase reading accuracy by 6% and reduce reading times by 16%.”The study, largely performed on Barco’s Coronis Uniti display, points to the overwhelming clinical advantages of SpotView,” the company said.

Barco’s Coronis Uniti 12MP features a 33.6″ display with a resolution of 4200 × 2800, a contrast ratio of 1200:1 and a maximum brightness of 2,100cd/m².
Meanwhile, the Nio Color 5MP features a 21.3″ display with a resolution of 2100 × 2800, a contrast ratio of 1400:1 and a maximum brightness of 500 cd/m².
The company says the devices’ resolutions allow users to fit more of the image on the screen, reducing the need for panning and zooming.
