Baltimore Ravens Show Off New UltraHD Displays

The Baltimore Ravens have unveiled the newest additions to the M&T Bank Stadium—two brand new Ultra HD video screens intended to ensure their fans can enjoy every moment of every game in high detail.

200′ (60m) wide and 36′ high (11m) high, the new screens double the size of the stadium’s previous display and are among the largest outdoor screens in the country.

This update is part of a $120 million renovation project for the venue, which includes $8 million of new equipment for the master control room, where the video is controlled, recorded and edited, and 11 new Ultra HD cameras. A ribbon display around the whole stadium is also being installed.

The final two phases of the project will include the addition of high-definition video boards — measuring approximately 33′ (10m) wide and 44′ (13.4m) high — in each of the four corners of the stadium.

The displays are reported to have been supplied by Samsung under the PrismView name that it is using for the LED business that it acquired when it bought Yesco. By our calculations, assuming the display is 3840 wide (to match UltraHD horizontal resolution, the pitch would be around 16mm. The last displays installed at the stadium were from Daktronics. (BR)
