Baanto International is pleased to announce that it is now supporting custom ShadowSense touchscreen hardware designs for the military, emergency services and ruggedised market that are compliant with MIL-STD-3009 NVIS and “Black” NVIS.
Night Vision Imagining Systems have become invaluable in a broad range of areas that include military, law enforcement, search and rescue, and even nature conservancy. However, NVIS has always been susceptible to interference from proximate InfraRed (IR) emission sources. That includes displays and touchscreens used in aircraft and support vehicles etc. Baanto can now provide ShadowSense solution, built to your design specifications, that can comply with the stringent MIL-STD-3009 and “Black” NVIS requirements while providing the unique features that make ShadowSense the “best in class” for high all reliability applications.
“Touch technologies such as Resistive and Projected Capacitance (PCAP) will natively support MIL-STD-3009, but they inherently introduce other concerns, such as reliability and susceptibility to electromagnetic interference. Also, touch technology using laminates, ITO films or conductive wires cause a loss of optical clarity and brightness, and reduce image sharpness that is critical to operations”, remarked Jonathan Clarke, VP Engineering at Baanto, “Our NVIS compliant solutions allow the unique and highly accurate ShadowSense based touchscreens to be used in mission critical situations where NVIS is a must.”
“The ability for us to meet NVIS compliance standards, along with our ability to provide solutions with MIL-STD-461 RS103 compliance means that customers in the demanding ruggedised market can have confidence that they can use the highly reliable and accurate ShadowSense technology in any operational situation”, commented Anthony Gussin, Director of Sales for Baanto, “When added to the other powerful features of ShadowSense, such as full sunlight immunity, high accuracy and repeatability, and proven reliability, the product offers an unrivalled touchscreen solution for mission critical applications”.
