Portrait Displays has developed CalMAN auto calibration capability for Sony’s 2018 Master Series A9F and Z9F Bravia Ultra HD and HDR televisions, being unveiled this week at a press event in New York City, United States.
Sony’s Master Series AF9 OLED was among the models announced earlier this week.
Calibration is the process of fine-tuning a display to ensure that it closely matches an industry standard. Manual calibration can require an hour’s work by a trained professional.
According to Portrait Displays, the auto calibration provided by the CalMAN software accelerates the process for professional calibrators, along with enabling new users the ability to perform professional-quality calibrations.
The auto calibration feature for Sony will be enabled in CalMAN 2018 R3 and is scheduled to ship at the same time that the 2018 line of Sony Master Series televisions are released.
