AUO is to take on 3,000 new employees in Taiwan – 1,000 of them engineers – to operate its new production capacity, say sources in the country. These include a new fab producing 27,000 glass substrates each month and a G6 LTPS fab in Kunshan (eastern China), which will come online in the second half of the year.
