AUO Drops Half G10.5 Plan

We reported recently on a decision by Samsung to back away from a half G10.5 fab (Samsung Display Switches Plan from LCD to OLED) and now the PJTime blog has reported that AUO has made a similar decision. Quoting Michael Tsai, COO of AUO, the blog said that it will focus instead on boosting the production from its G8.5 plant, and will add new capacity for 25,000 to 30,000 substrates per month, bringing the total capacity to 100,000 substrates by the second half of 2018.
