Audi Adds Laser Phosphor to OLED

Image: AudiAudi was at the eleventh International Symposium on Automotive Lighting (ISAL 2015) in Darmstadt and said that as well as the OLED head and taillights that it showed (Audi Invests in OLED) at the Frankfurt motor show, it is working on “matrix laser” technologies for headlights. The concept is based on using a laser, spatially modulated by a micromirror element, to create a specific pattern on a phosphor disc. The pattern is then distributed by a lens system and can be optimised to form a particular beam shape.
