Audi’s next A8 executive car is expected to have three digital displays – the instrument panel, a centre stack console and a new display for the infotainment system. The two centre displays will be touch enabled and the infotainment screen will also handle the climate control system. A long wheelbase version will have a rear setup that includes a wide removable touchscreen controller. The touchscreens feature haptics for feedback on operation.
The A8 will feature ‘Level 3’ autonomous driving and can handle driving at up to 60 kph for traffic jams and on highways with physical barriers to oncoming traffic. It can also park itself, even if the driver is not in the car.
