Asustek August Revenue Up 18%

Asustek’s August sales increased 18% from July to NT$40.8 billion ($1.2 billion), though this was 3.2% lower than August 2014. Last month’s result brought sales to date in 2015 to NT$295.7 billion ($9 billion), broadly flat year on year.

The company said that an upturn in the PC industry has led to improvements in its PC inventory levels in Europe and Asia Pacific, and positive reaction to Windows 10 leads Asustek to expect a replacement trend to start emerging. The company expects to ship 600,000 desktop PCs in Q3, as well as six million smartphones and 1.8 million tablets.
