Asus Tones Down External GPU Design

Asus has a new version of its external GPU (eGPU) box, called the XG Station Pro, that is designed to follow less the design language of previous versions, and fit better into professional environments. The box is much smaller as the 330W power adapter has been made external to the box. There are dual 120mm fans for cooling and a single USB Type C socket that can support charging up to 15W.

The box can support up to GeForce GTX 1080 Ti or Radeon RX Vega 64 graphics cards and that allows the box to power the notebook using Thunderbolt 3. It also supports macOS Sierra devices, but only with AMD Vega graphics cards as Nvidia doesn’t have a driver for macOS. Dimensions are 37.5 x 10.7 x 20.5 cm.

The unit will cost $329 in the US.
