Asus ProArt PA32UCG Review: Everything AND The Kitchen Sink

What They Say

Toms Hardware reviewed the Asus ProArt PA32UCG ‘Professional Gaming Monitor’. It said that the monitor is:

“extreme in every respect, including its $5,000 price tag. With near-perfect out-of-box accuracy, record setting brightness and contrast, and supreme versatility, it’s a great solution for professionals and gamers seeking the ultimate display”

The only downsides were the limit of 120Hz on refresh, a lack of Dolby Vision and the price.

The UltraHD monitor has a miniLED backlight with 1152 zones and is compatible with G-Sync. Brightness is 1,700 cd/m² in HDR and 440 cd/m² in SDR with 1400:1 native contrast. Although the specification includes Dolby Vision, it was not yet implemented when the review was done and a software update is expected about now. Colour coverage is 78% of Rec.2020 and nearly 100% of DCI-P3 (with ‘pinpoint accuracy’ according to the review) using a QD film.

What We Think

The site found that by turning off HDR and using DisplayPort in a ‘special mode’, it could push the display to 144Hz. (BR)
