Asus has reportedly estimated that China’s gaming notebook market will grow to three million units sold in 2018, and is hoping to account for 30% of volume, according to Economic Daily News, quoting Asus president, Jerry Shen.
Asus has enjoyed excellent growth in the past two years. The company’s gaming notebook sales increased by 50% year-on-year in 2016 and are predicted to grow by a further 40% in 2017. Shen estimates that the company will see a 30-50% growth in the market next year.
Vendors have recently seen a spike in sales as the country’s children return to school, and are preparing extra stock to cope with increased demand in the run up to China’s Singles’ Day on November 11th.
The report also went on to say that Chinese e-commerce website JD.com has predicted that notebooks with on-board Nvidia GTX graphics cards will sell four million units in 2018.
