What They Say
Asus has a new range of notebooks, with OLED options. The top of the range is a Zenbook Pro 16X OLED, a 2.5kg (5.6lb) model with a 16″, 16:10, 60Hz 3840 x 2400 OLED Dolby Vision and Pantone-validated touchscreen display.
There is also a new Zenbook Pro 14 Duo OLED dual screen model that has a 14.5″ 2880 x 1800 (16:10) main display with 120Hz refresh, 550 cd/m² DisplayHDR Black 500 display with touch. The secondary display is a 12.7″ 2880 x 864 (16:4.8) IPS LCD with touch and stylus support.
What We Think
I found the difference between the OLED and the LCD in performance to be a bit disconcerting when I saw the previous version of this notebook at the Bett show. However, I’m sure plenty will find it very useful and I welcome the Asus efforts to be innovative. At the SID/DSCC Business Conference, Intel was explaining its development of a folding notebook. I asked ‘Instead of calling it a folding notebook, why not just call it a tablet that folds up for shipping?”. It was not a popular question 🙂 (BR)
