Asus remains the number-one vendor of motherboards, GPUs and gaming notebooks in Russia despite the fall of the ruble in recent years, reports Digitimes. The publication notes that Asus’ market shares in Russia currently stand at 50% for motherboards, 35% for GPUs and 26% for gaming notebooks, the highest in the country.
The company’s motherboard and GPU shipments to Russia currently account for 30-40% of its overall European shipments, Digitimes said. Meanwhile, Asus’ SJ Hsu recently revealed that not only have Russian sales of gaming notebooks increased by 35% year-on-year, Asus’ own gaming notebook shipments have grown by the same number.
Continuing the theme, Hsu also said that Asus holds a 35% share of all PCs featuring Nvidia GTX GPUs in Russia, jumping up to 50% when looking at those which specifically incorporate Nvidia’s high-end GTX 1080 graphics card. He also remarked that the company’s ASP in Russia has increased by $50, a 10% year-on-year growth, with unit shipments also 10% higher than those seen in 2017.
Asus’ efforts in developing its distribution channels and brand marketing strategies over the past 20 years have been attributed to its continuing market lead by industry sources.
