Asus and MSI Losing Global Notebook Market Dominance

Asus and MSI’s dominance of the global gaming notebook market is being lost to competitors such as Acer, Dell, HP and Lenovo, according to unconfirmed sources in Taiwan.

Asus and MSI have long held a combined market share of over 50%, but they’re starting to lose share to competitor gaming products from other companies, thanks to promotional campaigns and sponsorship of eSports teams.

Dell’s Alienware range and Lenovo’s gaming products are performing well, with the latter having achieved a market share of 30% in China. The sources also said that second-tier manufacturers including Gigabyte, Hasee, Razer, Shinelone, Tongfang and Xiaomi are investing heavily in gaming notebook development, putting additional pressure on Asus and MSI.
