Archos’ Tablet is Diamond

Although French company Archos specialises in low-cost mobile devices, it still has premium products – most in the Diamond line. Following the announcement of the Diamond S smartphone (Archos ‘Reveals’ Windows 10 Mobile Release), the company has shown off the Diamond Tab tablet.

The first tablet in the Diamond line, the unit is Archos’ first 4G slate with an octa-core processor. Resolution of the IPS panel in the 7.9″ display is is 2048 x 1536. 2MP (front) and 5MP (rear) cameras are featured.

Android 5.1 runs on Mediatek’s MT8752 1.7GHz processor, with an ARM MaliT760 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

Archos will show the Diamond Tab at IFA this month, and will start selling it in October. It will cost £150 ($230) ex VAT.
