The Elec in its Korean version reported that Apple is working on a development project to create a ‘low 20″‘ range foldable notebook and it could be 20.25″ using a panel from a ‘major domestic parts maker’. The Elec calculates that the size of the notebook would be 15.3″ format when folded.
The blog also said that OLED-based notebooks have been pushed back in planning from 2025 to 2026 and that may be a factor in a foldable not arriving until later.
What We Think
If Apple switches to OLEDs in 2026 for MacBooks, I would be surprised to see them going to foldable in just a single year. I would have expected them to have stayed with the new technology for a couple of years. (BR)
