Aoto has announced new outdoor LED screens with 2.8 mm pixel pitch, which are believed to be the world’s first outdoor offering such a fine pitch. A total of 58 (covering 300 m²) of these new FinePitch screens have been installed at street kiosks and bus stops in Manhattan in New York, by media owner JCDecaux. Aoto confirmed that the displays are running under the type designation FS2.8LF and could help to save energy costs by 25% to 30%. The screens are designed for constant use with viewing angles of approximately 180°. Brightness of the units is up to 5,500 cd/m² and contrast is 3,000:1.
