A new 35″ LCD monitor, with a very high refresh rate and a curve for immersive gaming, has been presented by AOC.
The C3583FQ has a refresh rate of 45-160Hz out of the box, using Adaptive Sync (compatible with AMD’s FreeSync), and a 2,000R curve. A ‘Gaming Mode’ colour profile is built in, which optimises brightness and contrast for games, as well as a flicker-free feature.
An MVA panel features a 4ms (grey-to-grey) response time, 2,000:1 contrast ratio and 2580 x 1080 resolution. Viewing angles are 178° and brightness is 300 cd/m².
DisplayPort (x2) MHL-HDMI (x2), DVI and VGA ports are featured. Two 5W speakers are also built in.
AOC will begin to sell the C3583FQ in February, for £465 ($665) ex VAT.

Curve, fast refresh, flicker-free, MVA panel, high resolution, modern and legacy ports – this monitor is almost perfect. The only major gaming feature that it lacks is HDR, which pro gamers value to brighten dark areas of an image (where an enemy could be hiding), without washing out the light sections. (TA)
