AMD Result 27/07/2017

AMD announced FY17 Q2 results with GAAP revenues of $1.22 billion, and GAAP operating income of $25 million, resulting in a operating margin of 20%. The company also reported a GAAP net loss of $16 million. However, on a non-GAAP basis, operating income was $49 million and the net income was $19 million.

The revenues were up 19% on yearly basis, driven by higher revenues in the Computing and Graphics segment. The gross margin was 33%, also up on a yearly basis due to a richer product mix and a higher percentage of revenues from the Computing and Graphics segment, driven by the first full quarter of Ryzen processor sales.

For FY17 Q3, AMD expects revenues to increase approximately 23% on a quarterly basis. AMD now expects annual revenues to increase by a mid to high-teens percentage, compared to prior guidance of low double digit percentage revenue growth.
