Amazon First to HDR10+ Content for Samsung TVs

Amazon has started to release content that supports the HDR10+ from Samsung and now supported by Panasonic and others. 100 titles will be released and made available initially to stream on Samsung TVs. Titles include The Grand Tour, The Tick, and The Man in the High Castle and other content that is already available in HDR.

Amazon also supports Dolby Vision in the US.

Analyst Comment

While Amazon told Forbes that ‘every bit of content that’s available on Amazon Video in HDR will immediately also be available in HDR10+’, this doesn’t mean a lot. While HDR10+ allows and enables dynamic metadata, it doesn’t mandate any number of changes, as far as I am aware. Therefore, any content supporting HDR10 will also support HDR10+, but that doesn’t mean that it has been graded with dynamic metadata, so the experience of HDR10 and HDR10+ will be the same. (BR)
