When Amazon released its latest set of products recently, one of the features that it updated was to add Fire TV to the Echo Show 15 smart displays, effectively turning them into 15″ touchscreen streaming TVs. Amazon was not clear on whether it would add the feature to other devices in the Echo Show line.
Amazon also has a new generation (3) of its Cube streaming box that will be available later this month.
What We Think
I suspect that the question about support in other devices is because the functionality would depend on the level of processing in the system. The Echo Show 15 is selling for £199 in the UK this week ($188 + tax). If I was in the market for a new DPF, I wouldn’t hesitate to pick one of these up, although at the moment, this functionality is not shown on the UK site. (BR)
