Altice France/SFR has launched Connect TV de SFR, a new Android TV box with Ultra HD support and a voice-enabled remote control. The device is available to all, regardless of whether they are existing SFR customers.
The device is being promoted with a month’s free subscription to RMC Sport. Other available packages include SFR Ciné-Series, which incorporates Altice and SFR’s video-on-demand services. A separate entertainment channel package called SFR Divertissement will launch shortly, the company says.
The new box — which runs Android 7.1, powered by an Amlogic S905X processor, 2GB RAM and 8GB Flash memory, expandable by up to 32GB via USB or micro SD — also provides access to Google Assistant and apps from the Google Play Store.
The device is priced at €69 (about $80), initially available exclusively through SFR retail outlets, with other retailers getting stock shortly.
