ADTH and Tolka have announced they have become the first to achieve certification for their NextGen TV upgrade accessory receiver. A set-top box for ATSC 3.0 is crucial because it allows users to enjoy these upgraded features even if their existing television sets are not ATSC 3.0-compatible.
The certified product in question, the ADTH NextGen TV Box offers full support for ATSC 3.0 and ATSC 1.0, ethernet, dual-band wi-fi, HDMI, S/PDIF digital audio, and RCA connectors. Unfortunately, ATSC 3.0 is not backward-compatible with the existing ATSC 1.0 standard so, the ADTH NexGen TV box is a nice, less expensive alternative to buying a new TV for existing installations.
Additionally, it comes equipped with an electronic program guide and parental controls. To further enhance the viewer’s experience and accommodate those with hearing impairments, features like Dolby AC-4 Dialogue Enhancement, Audio Description, and Closed Captions can be activated.
The ADTH NextGen TV Box is set to ship in July 2023, with pre-orders already available on ADTH’s website. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the NextGen TV receiver is $119.99. However, for a limited time, it is available for pre-order at a discounted price of $79.99.
