League of Legends International esports Competition Draws Top Gaming Pros Worldwide
The 2016 League of Legends World Championship, more commonly called Worlds is an international eSports events that takes place over five weeks of competitive play with the top 16 teams from around the world. Teams from North America, Europe, Korea, China, Taiwan and other regions will compete for a prize pool of more than $2 million (USD). Worlds kicks off on Sept. 29 and the Finals will take place on Oct. 29 in Los Angeles.
One of the teams competing at Worlds includes Edward Gaming, one of the most recognisable Chinese squads, which is also sponsored by Acer China. The team has been highly successful in China, taking the top spot in the 2014 and 2016 LPS Summer Splits.
