Acer Eases Projector Set-Up

Acer’s H6517ST short-throw DLP projector is designed to make projection a matter of plug and play. It features Acer’s SmartFormat, which supports all wide-format PC signals. A PC can simply be connected and the projector will show images, without needing to change the PC’s resolution.

Instant resume can be used to turn the projector back on quickly if it is accidentally turned off, and automatic keystone corrects vertical distortions (+/-40°). The unit also supports wireless projection, when combined with an optional adapter.

Resolution is 1920 x 1080, and the projector can be ceiling-, wall- or floor mounted. It has a manual focus and 2x digital zoom, capable of throwing a 45″ – 300″ image from 0.5m – 3m away. It has a 0.5:1 throw ratio.

The 210W lamp will last for 4,000 hours, or up to 8,000 in ExtremeEco mode. Brightness is 3,000 lumens. 10-bit colour can be displayed, and the projector has a 10,000:1 contrast ratio.

HDMI (x2), composite and USB (x2) ports are featured, as well as a single 2W speaker. The projector measures 315 x 224 x 94mm and weighs 2.5kg. It is available now, for $800.
