Acer, Asustek see September Sales Decline

Acer reported sales of NT$31.1 billion ($1 billion) in September, 4.2% higher than August but down 5.7% from September 2013. Last month’s result brought sales for the year to date to NT$244.1 billion ($8 billion), 10.7% lower than the same period of 2013. For the third quarter, Acer’s sales grew 5.8% sequentially to NT$86 billion ($2.8 billion), though this was 6.6% down year on year.

Asustek also reported declines in sales last month, with September’s total of NT$41.6 billion ($1.3 billion) representing a drop of 1.4% month on month and 0.7% YoY. The company’s third quarter revenue increased 17.8% from Q2 and 4.3% from Q3 of last year, reaching NT$123.9 billion ($4 billion).
