According to Gartner, quoted by Acer, last year the worldwide Chromebook market was led by Acer with 28% of the market and with a 33% year-on-year growth. Acer was also the worldwide leader in 2014 and 2015 making it three years in a row.
Acer launched its first Chromebook in 2011, called the Acer C7, and was one of the first companies to offer the Chrome OS devices. Since then, Acer has introduced what it claims to be the most complete Chromebook portfolio on the market and was the first to offer a Chromebook with 14 hour battery life (Acer Chromebook 14), a large 15.6 inch screen (Acer Chromebook 15), a compact 13.3 inch convertible form factor (Chromebook R 13) and a Gorilla Glass version (Acer Chromebook 14 for Work). Acer also offers Chromebooks with screen sizes ranging from 11 inch to 15 inch with different specifications to meet the needs of consumers, schools and businesses.
