LED display maker, Absen Inc, said that it had worked with Panasonic’s systems business to supply what it says is the ‘first ever’ UltraHD centre-hung video board at the Golden 1 Center, the home of NBA team, the Kings in Sacramento. The display is 13,000 sq. ft. (1200 m²) in area with 33 million pixels, while the center video board alone is 6,000 sq ft (557 m²). It is 7.3 m high (24′) and 25 metres (84′) in length.
Absen said that it would continue to work with Panasonic in sports arenas.
Analyst Comment
At CES, Panasonic had a significant proportion of the booth devoted to its services for sports arenas and stadiums. We’ll report in more detail in our next issue. (BR)
