Qualcomm has spoken out in support of UltraHD smartphone screens. By mid- to late-2015, there will be several smartphones on the market using the format, the company believes. In an open document, Qualcomm argues that the human eye can still perceive pixels at a 10″ distance (average smartphone viewing distance) on screens of up to 573ppi. An UltraHD 5″ smartphone would have 881ppi, while a 10″ tablet would have 440ppi.
