Speaking to analysts after the announcement of its third quarter results (see Finance Results in this issue), LG Electronics said that it planned to implement a dual-track TV strategy, supplementing its line-up of next generation OLED TVs with less expensive sets using quantum dot technology.
The Korea Times reported last week that both LG and Samsung are working on quantum dot TVs that could be released at CES 2015 in January (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 42).
