After rushing to take advantage of Apple’s bending iPhones (http://tinyurl.com/qjdvdjy), the last thing that Samsung wanted was its own manufacturing defect. Even Samsung can’t get everything its own way, however. According to Korea’s IT Today, some owners have noticed a gap between the phone’s frame and the display panel, on the top, bottom and/or sides of the handset. In response, Samsung said, ‘This gap is a necessary manufacturing feature and some minor rocking or vibration of parts may occur… Over time, friction between parts may cause this gap to expand slightly’ (‘over time’ presumably meaning the first week of ownership? – TA).
