Samsung’s production timeline for 101- and 114-inch MicroLED uncertain

What They Say

The Elec has confirmed what we heard at the Peerless Event in London recently, that Samsung will next ship the 89″ ‘The Wall’ TV which uses a 0.5mm pitch to produce an UltraHD resolution display. The Elec said that the 101″ and 114″ models that had been planned have not started production as originally planned because of supply chain issues and low yield.

The 89″ is reported to be using LTPS glass modules rather than the circuit boards in bigger displays. The Elec said that the LEDs used are 34 x 85 ?m and are supplied by LED firm PlayNitride of Taiwan. The pricing has not yet been finalised the paper said.
