ViewSonic Launches Newest 4K ColorPro Monitor with Fogra Certification and Pantone Validation

What They Say

ViewSonic launched the ColorPro VP2786-4K monitor which is Fogra-certified and Pantone validated unit using an LG Nano-IPS panel with 100% Adobe RGB and 98% DCI-P3 capability; it is factory calibrated at Delta E<2. It ships with a ColorPro Wheel calibrator. Pricing is $1,004 in the US.

What We Think

I was amused that at one point in the release, a typo claimed Delta E >2 – I wouldn’t brag about that!

This is not a particularly revolutionary monitor but it’s interesting that it has Fogra certification. For those that haven’t been involved in the European pre-press and print market, Fogra is a trade association for printing based in Germany and looks at all aspects of standardisation in the print industry. It certifies monitors for soft proofing in pre-press applications and is essential if you want to enter the professional pre-press field in Europe and in Germany in particular.

The monitor looked to be very well priced for something with a Fogra validation, although I haven’t tracked that market for a while! However, looking back to 2017, the predecessor VP2785-4K was around the same price. (BR)
