Apple Watch to Have Larger Display

What They Say

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple’s success with its M series chips is leading to the firm putting a lot of resource into the technology and this is limiting improvements to products such as the Apple Watch, which he expects to have the same performance for the third year in a row – a new first for the product.

A tweet from Ross Young of DSCC suggests that the new largest size of Watch will be 1.99″ (50.3mm). Gurman said that he would like to see a brighter display.

The device may also include a sensor for detecting fevers although it will only provide an alert of temperature spikes, not direct readings, Gurman said.

What We Think

I would be surprised to see a big boost in brightness of the Watch display until better blues become available although there are often incremental increases. (BR)
