LG has announced a new TV in Korea in its “LG OLED Evo TV Object Collection” that has a cover that hides the TV under motor control. The 65″ set costs a whopping $8.381 and will be available with a choice of three colours, with extra covers available.
What We Think
As I have written many times, TV buyers dislike the ‘Black Hole on the Wall’ that a TV becomes when it’s off. (The Black Hole on the Wall) There are lots of approaches, from rolling displays to transparent sets and sets that can display static art, but at this kind of pricing, I wouldn’t expect a significant market for LG for this set.
