Samsung has released a teaser video about a new curved gaming monitor, the Odyssey Neo G9 which will be officially released on July 29th.
What We Think
The use of the Neo name means that this monitor will use miniLED and QD technology. Samsung China released information that indicated that the model might be the S49AG95NC and that it has 2048 zones on the 49″ curved VA 5120 x 1440 display which is said to cover 95% of DCI-P3 and peak brightness up to 2000 cd/m². Refresh rate is said to be up to 240Hz.
Curved gaming monitors have been a good segment for Samsung and the last time I saw the monitor product manager in person, at Gamecon in 2019, I heard that the segment was proving to be great for the financial results of the business segment. (BR)
