Samsung likely to unveil three foldable phones on Aug. 11

What They Say

The Korea Herald forecast that Samsung will announce three new foldable phones in its event on August 11th which will be livestreamed from Seoul. There will be a Galaxy Z Fold 3 with a 7.55″ internal foldable display and a 6.23″ cover display. There will be five cameras – three with 12mp, a 16mp under-display selfie camera and a 10mp camera on the cover side. It is expected to support the S-Pen.

There are reported to be two clamshell folding Z Flip 3. The external display is expected to be 1.9″ diagonal on both, but one will be a ‘Lite’ version.

The firm quotes Counterpoint as forecasting 5.8 million foldable smartphone shipments this year, up from 2.8 million in 2020.

The report also forecasts a dual-folding phone later as it is still under development.

What We Think
