Microsoft introduces ‘Designed For Xbox’ monitor licensing program

What They Say

We reported on the new Philips Momentum ‘Designed for XBox’, but I missed the Microsoft blog on this initative. Although the site mentions HDR, 4K at 120Hz and VRR with HDMI2.1, it doesn’t say much else about the requirements. However, it does list monitors from Acer and Asus as well as Philips. We would assume that the monitors need to support the Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) that Microsoft supports.

The ASUS Strix Xbox Edition Gaming Monitor XG43UQ 43” includes a special mode for XBox and features DisplayHDR 1000 certification and 90% of DCI-P3. It will be available in October. The Acer Xbox Edition Gaming Monitor XV282K KV 28” has a built-in KVM and will cost $949 when it arrives in the Fall. It is certified to DisplayHDR 400.

What We Think

Microsoft said that Philips will have more sets under the programme. (BR)
