An analyst company, block-builders.net produced a number of infographics, based on data from a number of sources, about the development of the gaming market in Germany. Data from game.de estimated that gaming hardware generated hardware sales of €8.5 billion.

40% of male gamers state that they can no longer imagine life without video and computer games. Among female gamers, the figure is 34%

What We Think

This landed in my inbox at about the same time as another mail that suggested that 40% of teenagers that play Fortnite do it for social reasons. It highlights how things change in the way we use technology.

Germany is very fertile ground for gamers. The Gamescon event in Cologne went from nothing to 245K visitors when it started in 2009 (that frightened me, I still see it as ‘new’, which it is relative to IFA and CES, but still…) (BR)
