FPD Revenues to Increase 28% in 2021 to Record $151 Billion

What They Say

DSCC posted a blog article that highlighted the strong growth in FPD revenues to a record forecast of $151 billion in 2021 although revenues are likely to flatten from 2022. Mobile phones, TV ($41 billion) and IT applications ($36 billion) are all expected to grow this year.

While LCD will continue to be used in a lot of applications, OLED will continue to be dominated by mobile phone revenues.

Overall display area is expected to grow less strongly from 2021 to 2024 compared to the period from 2018 to 2021.

Looking at LCD suppliers, BOE is expected to be relatively flat in capacity up to 2024, but in #1 position, while CSOT, which will get to #2 this year, will continue to grow. Innolux, AUO, Sharp and CHOT will be absolutely or relatively flat, while, of course, SDC will decline to zero and LGD will decline to around 20 million m² by 2023 and be flat from there in 2024.
