What They Say
The Elec from Korea reported that Solus Advanced Materials has started to build a new factory for OLED materials in Changzhou, Jiangsu province in China. At just $20.5 million, it’s not on the same scale as a panel fab, but the plant should be able to make 20 metric tonnes of material by 2025, with operations starting next year. The site said that Solus is the exclusive supplier of aETL material for blue OLEDs to Samsung Display in the last eight years. It is also said to be developing polymer thin film encapsulation material and quantum dot ink.
What We Think
DSCC has previously reported that 80% of Solus’ revenue for OLED materials came from Samsung. (BR)
