Last week we reported that PPDS (the company that controls the Philips brand in professional AV and digital signage in Europe) had decided to give staff the chance to say that they did not want to attend. Now, the firm has told us that it will pull out of the show. It held a virtual event last week and said this was a success. It plans more local ‘hybrid’ events.
Separately, Ericsson has pulled out of MWC2021 over concerns on health.
What We Think
The DailyDOOH has said that “We have it on good authority that almost 500 exhibitors from the original list of 650 have now pulled out of #ISE2021”. If that’s true, it would likely mean no big ISE event this year which would save me a trickiy decision! Ericsson usually has one of the biggest presences at MWC so that loss will be significant on the size of that potential show. (BR)
