PS5/Samsung TV Combination Shows HDMI Issues

Call of Duty

What They Say

Forbes has reported, with confirmation from its own tests that show that Sansung’s high end TVs have a limitation that mean that they can only support two out of three from the features of UltraHD, 120Hz and HDR when used on the PS5. Typically users keep the UltraHD, but have to choose between 120Hz and HDR. The problem doesn’t seem to apply on the Xbox Series X.

What We Think

I guess you would call this a ‘first world problem’. The article points out that switching between the PS5’s Resolution and Performance priority options for Call Of Duty: Cold War means that the signal switches from RGB to YUV in a 4:2:2 format. The author reached out to Sony and to Samsung, but without any feedback when we read the article. (BR)
