Twinkly has an addressable Display…

What They Say

I can’t remember how I got to it, but I was impressed with the Twinkly LED lights for festive trees and decorations. The system uses a smartphone camera to map its RGB LEDs to a grid which can then be used for animations and sophisticated displays.

What We Think

This is a clever use of a smartphone. I can see that this idea could easily be extended for much bigger displays. I’m not sure that I would spend $200 on a set of LED lights, though!

Twinkly has also developed technology to synchronise its LEDs to Razr RGB gaming systems which could be popular among those with decorative PC systems. (BR)
