What They Say
There are reports of the first leaked image, rather than renders, of the forthcoming S21 Ultra and S21 Plus. The Youtube video has details of the cameras, but sadly no image of the front of the phones. The cameras are said to be:
- Ultra – 108mp main, 12mp ultra-wide, 1st telephoto (10x zoom), 2nd telephoto
- Plus – 12mp ultrawide, 12mp main, 64mp telephoto
What We Think
These smartphones are due to be released on January 14th. It does astonish me that cameras of this megapixel count are being produced. I have a digital print (image below – although the screen capture doesn’t do it justice!) from a digital photography pioneer, Stephen Johnson, that is about 1.4m in diagonal. It has incredible detail, but is just around 25 megapixels, which was ‘state of the art’ when I bought it 20 years ago. (BR)
