What They Say
Samsung developed its TV Plus service to provide content to the brand’s smartTV systems. Now it has been rolled out to Galaxy Z Fold2, Z Flip, and original Galaxy Fold. The service is also arriving on the Galaxy A series, S9, and Note9. That means just about every recent flagship and mid-range Samsung phone will have access to the service.
The service has over 150 channels in the US including traditional channels and looping playlists of various shows (like the Kitchen Nightmares channel).
What We Think
Outside the US there are fewer channels (80 in the UK). My own feeling, having looked at the channels, it looks to me like, as Bruce Springsteen sang, “ 57 Channels (And Nothin’ On). A few years ago there was a move to put tuners into phones for TV viewing, but, to the best of my knowledge, the trend never came to anything significant. (BR)
