TV Market Up in Germany

What They Say

The Gfu in Germany has reported on the TV market in Germany. The value of the market was up to €2.6 billion over the first three quarters of the year and was up 5.5%. Volumes got to 4.6 million sets and the average price was slightly up at €565. TVs over 54″ (137cm) is 47% of the market by value, 36% by volume and 89% of the market is now UltraHD.

The Gfu also surveyed 2,000 consumers in July & August and found:

  • 65% of buyers said they were looking for bigger sets
  • 59% want better resolution
  • 47% want SmartTV features
  • 39% want ‘better features’
