Royole announced its second generation Flexpai 2 in China at 9,988 yuan ($1,470). It is out folding, like the first one and has a 7.8″ 1920 x 1440 display and is 6.3mm when flat.
What We Think
To develop this kind of product is really impressive for a young company like Royole. However, I have doubt’s about out-folding because of the ease of damaging the display. I have also seen Royole’s displays plenty of times at trade shows and have never been impressed with the quality. I could (almost) imagine spending this level of money on top brand premium smartphone, but I certainly wouldn’t spend that amount on a relatively new brand. (BR)
